It seems like just yesterday that we were celebrating our 500th Poststravaganza and now we’ve already hit another huge milestone.
This is DCBeer’s 1000th post. When our founder and editor emeritus Mike Dolan started DCBeer on December 4, 2008, I’m guessing he didn’t think the site would become what it is today. Hey, stop snickering over there; jokes about how he hoped it would never become what it is today are way too easy.
In any event, here we are. Although it took DCBeer 28 months to cover its first 500 posts, it took us under 11 months to double that output and get here. Pretty mind-boggling. You can take that as a sign that our commitment is stronger than ever to being the DC metropolitan area’s best resource for craft beer news, event coverage, interviews, and more.
The past year has been huge for us. We brought you SAVOR and DC Beer Week coverage. Two Bootlegger’s Beer Dinners. #Tweet-ups. Tastings. Events. And more! We’ve got even more coming in the pipeline. Soon we’ll announce the next event in our craft beer education series, and we’ll start coverage for this year’s SAVOR soon.
As a thank you to you, our loyal readers, leave suggestions about what you’d like to see from us in the comments. We’ll pick two comments at random to give away pairs of tickets to our next two beer education events!
Thanks to all of our readers, all of the breweries, bars, and restaurants committed to serving craft beer, our awesome team of writers which is always growing, improving, and bringing you more and more content. It’s been awesome to get to 1,000. We’ll revisit when we double that mark and recount all the awesomeness that has transpired. The DC beer scene will be even bigger then than it is now! We can’t wait.
Cheers and thanks for being part of the #DCBrews community!
