Way back on December 4, 2008, DCBeer’s founder Mike Dolan posted this entry which represented a clean slate and a new iteration of the DCBeer.com blog.

Now, two and a third years later, I find myself here writing to all of you to let you know that earlier this week DCBeer posted for the 500th time. The half-a-millennium mark, if you will. Not to get all sappy on you, but we think that’s a pretty big deal.

Now, two and a third years later, I find myself here writing to all of you to let you know that earlier this week DCBeer posted for the 500th time. The half-a-millennium mark, if you will. Not to get all sappy on you, but we think that’s a pretty big deal.

Here at DCBeer, we’re proud to bring you the very best coverage of the craft beer community in the DC metropolitan area. Whether it’s news, views, or event listings, where you can find Hopslam to whether the new gastropub is up to snuff, we’re happy to be out there trying to find out things that you want to know.

On behalf of all of the DCBeer writers, past and present, thanks for reading DCBeer. Thanks for your thoughtful comments and emails. Thanks for letting us know what we can do better. And thanks for supporting your local craft beer community; that’s what we’re all about, and we’re glad that so many of you are, too.

Sponsorship

DCBeer has certainly grown up in the past two plus years. It will continue to grow in the same way the community we cover grows. Stick with us, it’s going to be a wild ride.

To celebrate the 500th post, we want you to leave comments that tell us what you think the best part of the DC craft beer community is. Be witty or serious or both, but above all else, be sincere. We’ll reward the comment that resonates the most with us with something special from our cellar.

Thanks for reading, we’ll see you at post 1000. Cheers!
