Hit the lights, here are your non-exhaustive plans for the first weekend of Oktoberfest.
Thursday, 9/10
Atlas Navy Yard kicks things off at 11am, with $5 Festbier pints and $9.99 Festbier six-packs. All beer pints will be offered for just $6 from 5-8pm, and guests are invited to enjoy live music from an Oompah band from 6-8pm. Limited-edition festbier steins will be also available for purchase.
Franklin’s celebrates Oktoberfest in the tiki bar, with a band and Underberg America. Bring a stein and your first beer is a nickel! Steins also available for purchase.
Friday, 9/11
Lost Generation has 11 different lager styles, each one $6, including Oktoberfest and Festbier, two Czech-style side pulls, and a festbier gravity keg. But wait, there’s more! Bierstacheln (hot poking) station, stein hoisting competition, a brass band, and probably even more stuff than that. Pay as you go, starts when they open for the day.
Other Half DC is going to have a bunch of guest lagers on all weekend long, starting on Friday, as part of their Lager Village series. Pay as you go and beers TBD.
Atlas Alexandria starts at 11am, same deals and events as above.
Franklin’s is also back at it with nickel beers all weekend long, and maybe a gravity keg tonight.
Saturday, 9/12

Silver Branch Rockville, 11:30am-11pm. You can find the DC Beer crew here in the afternoon. A band plays 2-5pm, there’s a stein line at 3pm, and a fashion show at 4pm. You can pay as you go or buy tickets in advance.
Also, it’s Loudoun’s time to shine, with O’fests at Bear Chase, Harvest Gap, and Wheatland Spring. You’ll see us at Wheatland on Sunday! Closer in Solace has music 3-6pm from the Hot Taters and some cool shirts in addition to the usual festivities. All are pay as you go.
Atlas Anacostia, Bridge District, 11am, same deals and events as above.
Other Half’s Lager Village still going strong, too.
Not Oktoberfest, but Streetcar 82 turns 8 today with a celebration.
Sunday, 9/13

Wheatland Spring, 11am-8pm. We’ll be there. Pizza, soft serve, wine, and cider if you care not for German food and beer.
Nickel beers at Franklin’s if you bring a stein, also available for purchase.
Other Half, for lagers.
This is just an appetizer. Saturday, 9/19 is the main event. Stay tuned.
