Amid the Oktoberfest celebrations and Craft Malt Month, Hyattsville’s Streetcar 82 turns eight. To celebrate, they’ve once again partnered with Ireland’s Clonakilty Distillery. In 2021 at the brewery, a rugby-influenced chance encounter with a Clonakilty representative led to barrels being sent to Ireland. Those once held Streetcar 82’s Irish Red Ale, and were then filled with whiskey from Clonakilty. The resulting release in 2024 sold out in two weeks, and the two are back at it again.
On Thursday, September 17, 2026, Streetcar will host a Halfway to St. Patrick’s Day Party to celebrate the rerelease, and you can preorder a bottle of the whiskey through Riverdale Park’s Town Center Market. Both libations will be on hand on the 17th, along with Irish food and music.

After all, what could be a better celebration of malt than the combination of beer, whiskey, and beer-influenced whiskey?
