Today, November 19, 2024, Atlas Brew Works is cleared for takeoff. Fresh off opening an Alexandria location the DC-based brewery continues its tour of Virginia with an Arlington location… inside National Airport’s Terminal 2, near the B gates.
This makes flying a bit more interesting, as the taproom is past security, and sells 6-packs to go, which means that you can travel with Atlas’ award winning beer, as a gift or to stave off homesickness, your choice! Other airports have had brewery taprooms with to-go sales for some time now–think Portland, Oregon’s numerous options at PDX and the ability to buy 12-packs of New Glarus at some Wisconsin airports–so it’s good to see a DC-area airport joining in.
If you don’t like beer, or fly out at 8am, worry not. Atlas is sharing the space with Zeke’s Coffee and will have breakfast sandwiches until 10am. The beer flows until 9pm, or 30 minutes before the last flight out of the B gates.

A press release via Linda Roth PR is below, and remember that Atlas isn’t done quite yet; they’ll open a new production facility in Anacostia next year, the first brewery in DC to cross that river, which has been a socioeconomic boundary for decades. Also, we recommend you try their collaboration with Patagonia Provisions, a lager made with Kernza, a deeply-rooted regenerative perennial grain that is more environmentally friendly than barley. A second batch is now available in cans; the grain adds a slightly nutty taste to beer, which works well given the season.

Solar-powered brewery brings its beers to Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport this month
Washington, DC (November 14, 2024)—Atlas Brew Works is thrilled to announce its newest location, Atlas DCA, will open to the public in the Arlington, Virginia, airport on Tuesday, November 19. Located along the B Gates in Terminal 2, the forthcoming location is perfect for beer aficionados looking to imbibe before their flights out of Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA).
“Opening an airport outpost is an exciting new adventure,” said Atlas Brew Works Founder & CEO Justin Cox. “Whether traveling for work or leisure, DMV visitors and locals alike will have another place to enjoy our solar-powered brews.”
Those with an early morning flight will be excited to learn the 2,425 square-foot space will be shared with a Zeke’s Coffee and offer breakfast options until 10am. Grab a coffee (or a beer!) at Atlas DCA to pair with breakfast options like the Belgian waffle platter, eggs your way, breakfast sandwich, chicken & waffles, french toast, and whole grain granola bowl, served until 10am. Enjoy an array of options for lunch and dinner including salads, sandwiches, wings, pizzas, and more. A kids food menu will also be offered for guests under the age of 12.
Regulars will find comfort in the brewery’s six core beers including Silent Neighbor, which recently won a bronze medal at the 2024 US Open Beer Championship, in addition to two rotating seasonal drafts. Guests will be able to purchase post-security six packs to-go, bringing Atlas’ award-winning beer with them to their final destinations.
Atlas DCA is located along the B Gates in Terminal 2 and will operate from 5am to 9pm daily, or 30 minutes past the last flight in its area of the concourse.
