Shenandoah Brewing appears to be in the final stages of selling their business per an in formal press release sent out just this morning.

Out of Alexandria this morning comes a bit of good news related to the operation of the areas’ only brew on premise. Shenandoah Brewing appears to be in the final stages of selling their business per an in formal press release sent out just this morning.

As many of you know, the brewery has been up for sale for several years but no purchase was ever successfully completed.  We were unfortunately planning the closure of the brewery and ceased brewing operations, with the last customer brewing day on the first weekend in June and the last customer bottling day being the 18th of June, this past Saturday. Nothing like a last minute save, however and a prospective buyer is in the final process of purchasing the brewery, primarily meaning we are getting all the paperwork in place for them to take over the brewery.  This is good news indeed.

The prospective new owners should be in place by the end of this month or the beginning of July. They will keep the operation more or less as is, but I am not privy to their exact plans so we will all just have to wait and see what happens, but yes, they are maintaining the brew-your-own-beer part of the business. They will open the books for brewing reservations starting on the 13th of July.

Shenandoah is thanking everyone for all the support and encouraging everyone to join them tonight their last day of business under current ownership. Shenandoah will be open from 5pm to 10pm and will be serving their final batch of beer.
