When last we checked in with Tony Prebula, owner and brewer at Gaithersburg’s Saints Row, the last day for the brewery and roastery was to be Saturday, May 2, 2026. At 3pm that day, he announced a sale: Saints Row is staying put, having been sold to employees. The brewery will close for a refresh and reopen later this year under new ownership and management. No word on if the coffee program is staying, too. “Saints Row will return in a few months after a brief closure while there is a transition in ownership. Keep on the lookout for updates and continue on this journey with us. It’s not goodbye, it’s see you later,” the brewery posted on social media.

Over in Wheaton, Silver Branch will open and brewery, taproom, and another location of Mosaic Pizza. The Wheaton Headquarters Building at 2425 Reedie Drive opened in 2020, and at long last ground floor retail is happening. Silver Branch Wheaton is slated for a summer 2027 opening, and while we don’t know this size of the brewhouse to be installed, the property is approximately 8,500 square feet. It’s a 12-year lease with 2 5-year renewal options.
Silver Branch Warrenton is hoping for a reopening later this year following an electrical fire.
There was to be another closure in Maryland, Hysteria Taproom in Anne Arundle’s Pasadena. The team behind TriviaMaryland acquired the taproom and there’s been no interruption in hours. It’s probably not in the rotation for our regular readership, but there’s also excellent ice cream in that shopping center. Keep the good news coming!
