ALEMAX is the brainchild of Georgia’s Craig Stroud, bringing together both sneakerheads and hopheads. On Wednesday night at Bluejacket, the party comes to DC with a collaboration that also includes DC’s Soul Mega.
The beer itself, available in both cans and draft at Bluejacket, is a blonde ale with a post-recovery twist: lemon peel and sea salt for those all important electrolytes. Neither DC Beer nor the breweries are making any health claims here, but put your running shoes on because at 7pm District Running Collective will take a stroll around Navy Yard; all skill levels are welcomed. Then head back to Bluejacket, or just show up in your best trainers or tennis shoes, for DJs and a post-workout beverage.

Our own Mike Stein interviewed Stroud via email. The first ALEMAX collab was with Decatur’s Inner Voice, and if you’ve been to a DC Beer share you may have seen the ALEMAX-Monday Night Brewing collaboration IPA make an appearance. DC and Portland, OR are first time cities on the tour. “At this time, we’re confirmed 7 breweries with an additional two being confirmed as I type,” Stroud tells us. He’s already hit Atlanta, Charlotte, and Chicago.

“We kick things off with a community run led by District Run Collective, followed by the official release of DC’s edition of ALEMAX, brewed by Bluejacket and Soul Mega.
Run with the crew — or just pull up for the beer and sneakers.
ALEMAX connects three overlapping communities: runners, sneaker enthusiasts, and craft beer drinkers, all centered around the taproom. Part of a worldwide collaboration series, DC’s version is an ultra-refreshing blond ale brewed with lemon zest and a dash of sea salt. The subtle salinity adds a boost of electrolytes, making it the perfect post-run pour.
The event starts at 6 PM. Lace up your best pair. The community run (all paces welcome) departs from Bluejacket at 7 PM. Afterwards, we’ll keep the energy going with fresh pours of ALEMAX and music by DJ Airess Jordan and DJ Ebb King.
Whether you’re here for the miles, the sneakers, or the beer, this night is about showing up and building community.
Different rituals. One tribe.”
