It’s always good news to report on a brewery opening, so please give a warm #dcbrews welcome to Silver Branch Rockville Beerworks, opening Friday, May 30, in the building that housed True Respite Brewing Co. just off Rockville Pike, MD-355.
It’s the third location for the Silver Spring brewery, though their second, in Warrenton, Virginia, remains closed for repairs stemming from a fire last winter.
To celebrate, Silver Branch is throwing a three day party in Rockville. Friday, May 30 features $6 pints of Dr. Juicy IPA and Glass Castle Pilsner during Silver Branch’s Rockville first-ever happy hour, and a ribbon cutting ceremony at 6pm with Silver Branch Co-Founders Christian Layke and Brett Robison. Live music follows at 7pm.
Last fall DC Beer reported that Silver Branch’s crowdfunding campaign included a bierwagon. Well, it makes its debut on Saturday in Rockville. Also look for games, prizes, and a DJ. The brewery will also have a “welcome booth” from 12-6pm, to “answer questions and share upcoming beer releases and the Rockville Beerworks calendar of events,” per a press release. Sunday is for families, with free ice cream for kids while supplies last (and one per kid, please), face painting, and more.
The brewery isn’t done yet, though. The same release notes that, “next steps include further kitchen development that will add pizza to the menu, expected this fall, followed by moving the brewhouse from Silver Spring to Rockville in the winter” of 2026. Look for nachos, wings, pretzels and more for the time being, and if you’re not a fan of beer, wine, cider, cocktails, and non-alcoholic options are available.
