Washington, DC goes all out for Pride Month every June, but 2025 brings World Pride to DC, and the festivities start… today!

Red Bear Brewing and Denizens Brewing are both LGBTQ+-owned; every day is Pride at these two breweries. Check their socials for events. Once again, Red Bear has teamed with DC Brau on Pride Pils, with a launch party on Wednesday, May 21, at Crush on 14th Street NW. Per a press release, “the 8th edition of its beloved Pride Pils can — themed ‘Gay is Good’ — honoring LGBTQ+ civil rights icon Frank Kameny on what would be his 100th birthday.” Red Bear will be donating all profit from the sale of this year’s Pride Pils to non-profits such as The Blade Foundation and SMYAL.

Anxo: “This year’s ANXO Pride is made with 100% PA-grown Stayman Winesap apples fermented dry in stainless and it is tasting great! The cider is light, crisp and refreshing and features a vibrant new can design! We’re donating a portion of the proceeds to SMYAL (Sexual Minority Youth Assistance League), a local DC-based youth LGBTQ advocacy group, including $1 of every 4-pack sold and draft poured during the entirety of World Pride + Pride Month in June!”

Bluejacket world pride many colors

Bluejacket is celebrating World Pride 2025 with the release of “Many Colors, a dry-hopped rice lager brewed with Motueka and El Dorado hops. Expect crisp, clean flavors with hints of lime blossom, golden melon, and stone fruit.” Yes, you can buy that jersey as well.

Last Year Lost Generation and Capital Pride Alliance collaborated on a beer and threw a party. This year they’re adding a hard seltzer to the mix. The party is Monday, June 2 at 6pm. The beer and seltzer will be available on draft and in cans. Details: “Kick off World Pride with Lost Generation Brewing Company and Capital Pride! 100% of Lost Generation x Capital Pride collab release sales (‘Fabric of Freedom’ Hazy Blonde and ‘Strawberry Lemonade’ Seltzer) this day will go to Capital Pride.”

Port City’s annual Pride party and market is June 14, featuring 10+ LGBTQ+ vendors and a drag show.

DC punk band Ekko Astral previously collaborated with Right Proper Brewing Co. on Head Empty Brews, an IPA. Now Right Proper is one of the sponsors of the band’s Liberation Weekend, a two-day music festival to benefit the Gender Liberation Movement. Music nerds, listen up: day two features indie rock heavy hitters like Bartees Strange, Speedy Ortiz, and Ted Leo.

Williamsburg isn’t local by any definition, but Friends of Dorthy IPA from Virginia Beer Co. is available in NoVA, and the brewery is a long-time supporter of LGBTQ+ communities. The 2025 version “blends El Dorado & Azacca in the whirlpool with an Azacca & Strata dry-hop… a beautiful hazy base beaming with tropical notes, red berry hues, and plenty of zest.” Look for a National Coming Out Day beer in the fall as well.

We’ll update this post with more beers as we hear about them. In the past both Aslin and Crooked Crab have made beers for good causes. Cheers and happy Pride!
