Calling all DMV homebrewers! Want to scale up? You’ve got two opportunities over the next few months.
First, Third Hill is back at it. We told you about Leetvleteren last fall, and their second annual homebrewing competition is about to go live. The gist: drop off your homebrew–bottles preferred and nothing too funky, though kettle sours are fine–by February 15, 2025 along with $5 per submission. Winners will be announced on March 1, so it’s a quick turnaround, with prizes for 2nd and 3rd place as well. We might know some of the judges for this one, wink wink, and your entry fee goes to a good cause.
Next up, Pizzeria Paradiso is looking for a witbier or a saison to serve this summer, and it might be yours, brewed at DC Brau! Keep it between 4-7 alcohol by volume, please, and no brett–let’s keep it clean here, people! Register by March 20, with the beer due for judging two months later, May 20, 2025. Just like Third Hill, the grand prize winner gets to scale up their brew on a commercial system, in this case DC Brau’s.
