There are so many brewery anniversary parties happening this weekend that we had to do a post about them. In alphabetical order, plus a Baltimore bonus, let’s go!

black flag 8th anniversary

Black Flag turns 8, and is celebrating with 5 new beers! That’s two IPAs, two stouts, and a sour. Two food trucks, too, and the party goes from 12-11pm on Saturday, which makes it easy to stop by. Pay as you go, with a bonus market–plenty of vendors–on Sunday.

crooked run 11th anniversary pils

Crooked Run turns 11 and the party is in Sterling on Saturday, June 15. They’re brewing up anniversary beers that will be available at all locations on Friday, too. First up, a pilsner: “Single decocted, made with North Star pilsner malt, and lightly dry hopped with Nelson for a luxurious, lightly tannic finish.” After that, a Belgian-style red fermented in their Sterling coolship. Yes, please. Watch their socials for more information and at least one more beer release, pay as you go.

Denizen’s is turning the big 1-0 and is celebrating with some friends. Look for beer and hotdog specials on Saturday, June 15, with guest beers from Atlas, Franklin’s, Lost Generation, Manor Hill, Port City, and Streetcar 82. We already told you about one of Denizens new beers, and who knows, maybe you’ll see two Dortmunder-style export lagers on tap at a local brewery for the first time ever! Psst, Lost Gen is bringing Vida, their Mexican-style lager hopped with Motueka, for a nice hint of lime. Pay as you go.

Lost Rhino 13 anniversary

Lost Rhino turns lucky number 13 in Ashburn on June 15, and is celebrating with vendors, music, rum slushies, limited edition merch, and food from the tropics. In other words, it’s a party! Pay as you go.

metrobar 3rd Anniversary

It’s been 3 years since metrobar put the train car in, and they’re celebrating with what could be the last hurrah for District Made/One Eight Distilling, and Atlas. “We’re hosting a free VIP Tasting during the event from 2-5pm with District Made head distiller Alex Laufer, which will be his last tasting session with District Made. Plus, Atlas Brew Works will be on hand with Spirit of District Common hops flavored whiskey, sampled side-by-side with the namesake District Common beer. Tasting slots are limited so please RSVP here for your chance to join.” Otherwise it’s pay as you go, with Atlas beer and shot combos and other special anniversary deals, and DJs and food trucks as well.

Dont-Sleep-on-Saisons-Poster

We’ve spilled some ink about Mieza Blending and Brewing on this site, and the area’s best kept secret in mixed fermentation celebrates a year in Alexandria. Look for two new beer releases and the grand opening of their patio. Don’t sleep on saison! Pay as you go.

old ox 10 years 10 beers

Old Ox turns 10, too, and what better way to celebrate than with 10 beers for 10 years? Even better, these beers come from Old Ox alums, and there’s a special alum collaboration beer. Pretty cool idea. “You’ll be able to sample and savor beers from Bunnyman, Crooked Run, Eavesdrop, The Farm Brewery at Broad Run, NOVA Homebrew Club Collab, Old Busthead, Solace, Vasen, plus a special collaboration beer brewed by former Old Ox brewers. We also have guest ciders from Winchester Ciderworks and Lost Boy Cider. Visit our website for a complete list of the beers and beer descriptions.” Tickets are $30 and include pours of anniversary beers, alum beers, and a 500ml bottle of the collaboration beer.

Checkerspot is in Baltimore, yes, but it’s probably easier to get to for some of our readership than breweries in Loudoun, so we’re including them. Checkerspot won a Sam Adams Brewing the American Dream grant and used those funds on a new space and new tanks. The Womxn’s Brew Culture Club has already been up there for a visit, and owner/brewer Judy Neff participated in the Women in Craft Beverages panel at Other Half. We suggest you check them out for their sixth anniversary.

Look for “a re-release of Inspiration Rye IPA, still in collaboration with Sam Adams and the Brewing the American Dream program but brewed at Checkerspot, and we are bringing back our anniversary beer releases from all of the years past. High Five Schwarzbier, Bella Birra Italian Pilsner, 3 Honey Hazy IPA, Local Gold Hefeweizen and a special Dog Beer for the pooches will stand in for year 2.” Pay as you go.

third hill first anniversary

If you picked the wrong weekend to head out of town, worry not because June 22 has two more anniversary parties.

Manor Hill turns 9 with a family friendly affair featuring new beer releases, pizza, ice cream, farm animals, and more!

It’s been a year since Third Hill took over for Astrolab, and they’re celebrating by “partying all day and into the night, Sat., June 22. Stop in early to get your limited release anniversary t-shirt and glass. Then hang out with us, sip on our anniversary beer.” Both the events on Jun 22 are pay as you go. We’ll see you at a few of these parties!
