One special release you won’t find at the Ivy City taproom: Oh2 Chill, a THC-infused (tetrahydrocannabinol) version of Other Half’s Oh2 seltzers (though Oh2 Chill contains no alcohol).
Interestingly, you can buy Oh2 Chill at any Other Half taproom in New York state, but you cannot consume it on premise, and Other Half will ship Oh2 Chill directly to you in 48 states–you know which ones don’t make the cut, sorry. You can’t buy Oh2 Chill in the Philadelphia taproom where it was made, and you can’t buy it in DC, either, despite plenty of stores in the city that will sell you THC products.
A THC seltzer, what? Well, Other Half, and other beverage companies, are using Delta-8, a cannabinoid (CBD) that contains THC and is derived from hemp, which is legal at the federal level. Per the 2018 farm bill, hemp-derived cannabinoids are not controlled substances, so it’s kind of a free-for-all.
