DC Brau and Darkest Hour are no strangers to beer collaborations, having made “Savor the Swill,” a Helles lager, in 2017 to celebrate the band’s twentieth anniversary. They did not take us up on our suggestion to release an Iron Reagan-themed barrel-aged version of that beer, but they did work together again on Perpetual | Termin-ale, an amber ale that will be available at the Darkest Hour show at the Black Cat on April 6. You’ll also probably see it at Brau. As you’ve figured out by now, the new album is called Perpetual | Terminal and is the first full-length release since the band last played at Brau’s 2017 anniversary party.

“Darkest Hour’s very own Mike Schleibaum dropped the hops into the kettle with his own hands and come this April 6th we will serve it up for the first time ever at our end of tour party / show, April 6th at the @blackcatdc !” reads an Instagram post from the band.

The Black Cat has been busy with beer collabs over the past few months, serving a Crooked Run-Velocity Girl production in December and more recently an Ocelot-Mary Timony IPA that was the focus of a Washington City Paper article we recommend.

This is a lot of guitar-based beer; we’re still waiting for a Rico Nasty or WifiGawd collaboration, and should that happen, we’ll be here to tell you about it.
