Dovetail Brewery, a well-known Chicago lager house, is coming to DC.
The events start Thursday, February 29, at Churchkey. Friday, March 1, they will be pouring their core four at Alexandria’s Lost Dog Cafe. Saturday, you can find them at High Side in Fairfax, and there’s a good chance these drafts will be on as long as they last.
Per Jenny Pfafflin, Marketing & Creative Manager, Brewer, and Advanced Cicerone®, “Taplists are to come, but each spot will feature our Core 4 (Helles, Hefeweizen, Kölsch and Vienna Lager) along with some of our seasonals.”
You can expect these seasonals to include Rauchbier, Smoked Helles, Grodziskie, Dunkel, and Dubbel. There is even a rumor of a couple of Dovetail’s fruited spontaneously-fermented beers.
“Either way, there will be a couple, two, tree (or even 7!) Dovetails on tap at any of these places where we are thrilled to be a featured brewery,” Pfafflin tells DC Beer.
You can expect Dovetail’s core four beers in cans, which will also trickle in. Allied Craft Distribution will ensure that DC and the metro region sees fresh cans and kegs of Helles, Hefeweizen, Kölsch, and Vienna Lager when they get in and around town.
According to Churchkey, Thursday’s DC debut will see the core four plus:
- Dunkel (Dunkel Lager)
- Framboise (Wild Ale w/ Raspberries)
- Grodziskie (Polish Smoked Wheat, specialty beer of its namesake town in Poland)
- Pêche (Wild Ale w/ Peaches)
- Rauchbier (Smoked lager)
- Smoked Helles (Smoked Helles Lager)
The next day Lost Dog Cafe will launch Dovetail in Virginia. In addition to the core four Lost Dog tells us they will have:
- Dubbel – Raisin bagel, fragrant, transportative 🥯🤯🇧🇪
- Rauchbier – Like eating a bar of chocolate in a smokehouse 🍫🥓
- Smoked Helles – A smoked version of Dovetail’s Helles with repitched yeast from their other smoked beers. We’ll tap this fun one once y’all hold up your end on the OG Rauch 😉😤🍺
And on Friday, Dovetail will be pouring at Shelter, the core four plus three more: Dunkel, Grodziskie, and Smoked Helles.
