A Stout like no other with notes of biscuit, cinnamon and caramel malts

Amid news of brewery closures, some light for 2023: Black Viking is at Red Bear today to brew Stroop! There It Is, a 7.6% alcohol by volume stout with stroopwafels added. Let’s get weird!
It’s the first time Black Viking has collaborated with a brewery in DC, and with Red Bear head brewer Devin Antoncic, Red Bear brewer Nicole Jones, and Black Viking’s Shaun Taylor, it’s an all person of color affair, perhaps a first for DC collaboration brews.

“A Stout like no other with notes of biscuit, cinnamon and caramel malts,” says Red Bear Director of Operations and founder Simon Bee. Jones is no stranger to the more subtle side of pastry stouts, if such a thing exists, having just kegged a fresh batch of Biscui-Cuffs, a recipe she developed last year. Look for cans of that stout, with Biscoff cookies and coffee from neighboring La Colombe, in the next few days. Stroop! There It Is will follow shortly thereafter, and should satisfy sweet tooth cravings in the dead of winter and the upcoming Valentine’s Day.
