On Saturday, August 27th, Soul Mega celebrates their third anniversary with a block party at The Parks at Walter Reed. They’ll be DJs and food, but most importantly they’ll be Black-owned beer companies. Black Viking Brewing, Joyhound Beer Company, Patuxent Brewing Co., Sankofa Beer Company, and Urban Garden Brewing will all be there in addition to Soul Mega, as will the Black Brew Movement.
The festivities start at 1pm, with unlimited pours from the above breweries. Tickets are $50.
Black Viking and Sankofa recently participated in the nation’s largest Black-owned beer festival, Pittsburgh’s Barrel and Flow, so maybe a few stray kegs or cans of their collaborations will make an appearance.
Black Viking and Troeg’s brewed a schwartzbier with blackberries, Blackberry Bliss, while Sankofa and Brooklyn Brewery cooked up Oko Farmhouse Ale using both red and black rice.
We’ll see you there. Again, smash that ticket button.
