The days before and after Thanksgiving are chock full ‘o beer releases and events. Here’s what’s popping in the DMV.
7 Locks Turns 4 – Four beers being released to celebrate on Wednesday the 27th.
Aslin Black Friday Bottle Blitz – Aslin is releasing a bunch of stouts, each with the final gravity of Kaluha. Can’t make it to the brewery? They’ll be at Churchkey later on that day.
Astrolab is getting a jump on everyone, with two IPAs coming out on Tuesday at 4pm. New Zealand hops meets American overeating.
Atlas – The Shape of Funk to Come. One of the first rules of beer pairings is that acid cuts fat. Put this on your Thanksgiving table.
Also, it just so happens to be 50% off growlers on Wednesday. Festbier or a barrel-aged saison would work with turkey, just saying.
Bier Baron – This bar has the jump on Goose Island’s Black Friday Bourbon County Brand Stout release, pouring 17 kinds of BCBS across 6 years of releases, including the 2019 ones. They’re asking that you RSVP.
Crooked Run Black Friday – This Sterling, VA brewery is giving Aslin a run for their money in the pastry stout department. Three stouts will be released on Friday. Can’t make it out to the exurbs? They’ll be at The Berliner on Wednesday.
A day late, but not a dollar short, DC Brau releases their 2019 version of Wake Up in the Future during their holiday market. Saturday the 30th. Shop small!
Jailbreak Dranksgiving – A Christmas beer, sure. But note that three crowlers are $25. Sounds like a Thanksgiving pairing party.
Old Ox Barrel-Aged Black Friday – Four barrel-aged beers in bottles, in flights, and paired with cheese, chocolate, and churros. Choose your adventure.
Port City Drinksgiving – Manicial Double IPA is back, in cans! Award-winning Pilsner! Go now!
Sapwood is releasing yet another funky beer, Elliptical Orbit. Repeat after me: Acid Cuts Fat.
November 29th will be the Elliptical Orbit (Wine-Barrel-Aged Dark Sour with Zante Currants and Dates) bottle release! It's similar acidity to Opulence, but with huge dark fruit and restrained roast. pic.twitter.com/H1hilG9uTC

Silver Branch is releasing stouts with, ahem, more managable ABVs on Wednesday and in cans!
Not looking to buy anything to go and just want a spot to drink? 3 Stars has half-off pints on Wednesdays.
