DC Homebrewers bring the best of their craft beer to the people

On September 29th, from 1-4 PM at 3 Stars Brewing, the DC Homebrewers are having their eighth annual barbecue. The event is open to the public, and you should be interested for a variety of reasons.

First, there’s award-winning homebrew, lots of it. For $10 advance, $15 at the door, you get a pint of 3 Stars beer, a DC Homebrewers taster glass for sampling homebrew, and a raffle ticket. That raffle ticket puts you in the running to win some pretty cool experiences. From a DC Homebrewers communication:

We have incredible experiences to win like a VIP tour for 12 at Port City Brewing; a private tour & tasting for 7 at Capitol Cider House; a private tour, tasting and off-menu dinner for 4 at Bluejacket; a 3 course dinner for two with beer pairings at Roofer’s Union; brewer for the day at Rocket Frog Brewing; a private tour, tasting & a bottle of rum from Cotton & Reed; a private tour & tasting from Red Bear Brewing; Nationals tickets and Capitals tickets. Plus big gift cards and swag from Pizza Paradiso, Midlands, City Tap House, Glen’s Garden Market, The Brew Shop, Right Proper Brewing, DC Brau, MyLHBS, Meridian Pint, Settle Down Easy Brewing, and Dogfish Head.

You can buy additional raffle tickets to increase your odds of winning. Regardless, that’s a loaded slate of prizes.

Second, it’s for a good cause. Ticket and raffle sales fund activities of the DC Homebrewers, such as educational events and the website, and helps to keep membership free.

Third, you get this sweet glass. Not too shabby for $10. Heck, you might have so much fun you’ll take up the homebrewing hobby.

As for the BBQ part, As for Smoke and Ember will be on hand with barbecue, including vegetarian options, for purchase.
