Red Bear Brewing is celebrating Women in the craft beer industry by hosting a free event on Thursday, September 12th from 6 pm – 10 pm.  The event includes a panel discussion and meet & greet with five influential Women in the DC craft beer industry to discuss any and all things related to the craft beer industry in the DMV area. 

The Women in Beer panelists include:

Melissa Romano, Owner, Lake Anne Brew House

Katie Marisic, Federal Affairs Manager, Brewers Association

Mari Rodela, Chief Community & Culture Officer, DC Brau Brewing Company

Drew McCormick – Beer Director, Pizzeria Paradiso (Dupont Circle)

Tierney Plumb – Senior Editor, Eater DC

The event will be moderated by Red Bear’s Taproom Manager, Liz Cox.

Additionally, the event will include a special beer release, “Blonde Boots”, which is a Belgian Blonde brewed at Red Bear in collaboration with several of the DC area female brewers.  All proceeds from “Blonde Boots” during the event will be donated to the local DMV Pink Boots Society chapter on behalf of Red Bear to support DC area women in the craft beer industry.

The Pink Boots Society is an international non-profit organization which offers scholarship and networking opportunities for women in the craft beer industry to support career advancement. Their mission is to “assist, inspire, and encourage women beer professionals through education”.
