We’ve got some heavy hitters releasing beers this week, so let’s get right to it.
Canada’s Collective Arts Beer is sending a bunch of stuff to the District on the heels of a tap takeover at Churchkey.
American brewers have been blurring the line between India Pale Ale and barleywine for a bit now–hello, Dogfish Head 120 Minute–but this is a whole ‘nother thing from DC Brau.
You might think it’s too hot for a festbier, but Port City’s rendition could be year-round and we wouldn’t complain; “Brewed with German malt and hops and served in the “Keller” or “Zwickel” style meaning unfiltered and naturally carbonated. This beer is a brilliant amber with gentle flavors of crusty bread, leading to a clean, dry finish punctuated by just a touch of noble hops.”
Elsewhere in VA, look for new releases from Ardent, Rocket Frog, and Vasen in the area.
Last, but not least: Maryland!
