Voodoo Brewery, a Pennsylvania-based brewery with eight locations, recently opened a Washington, DC outpost at 625 T Street NW in the Shaw neighborhood. The opening, which first caught DCBeer’s attention yesterday via Twitter, was apparently unheralded in local food and beverage outlets.
Voodoo Brewery, which has locations in Erie, Homestead, Meadville, Lancaster, Grove City, and State College, Pennsylvania, is making its first foray out of its home state and setting up shop in the nation’s capital directly across from Right Proper Brewing Company’s brewpub location.
The brewery’s beers made their debut in February at an event titled “The Ultimate Big Bad Voodoo Party” at ChurchKey.
Voodoo’s year-round portfolio includes Hoodoo (IPA), Gran Met (a Belgian-style ale), Voodoo Love Child (Gran Met on passion fruit, cherries, and raspberries), Killapilz (an imperial lager), White Magick of the Sun (witbier), and Wynona’s Big Brown Ale (a, you guessed it, brown ale).
The brewery’s website notes that it is employee-owned and franchise opportunities are apparently available.
This story is developing. We’ll update this post as we get more information or a chance to visit the new location.
