Next Thursday, September 13 from 5-7pm, Samuel Adams, through their Brewing the American Dreamprogram, is bringing speed coaching and networking to Reston, specifically for veteran business owners. The event will be held at StreetShares (1900 Campus Drive, Suite 200, Reston).

Sam Adams invites veteran small business owners in food, beverage and brewing from across the Washington, D.C. and Northern Virginia area to register and attend the free Speed Coaching event.

Held in partnership with the StreetShares Foundation, the support organization for veteran entrepreneurs, the Speed Coaching event will provide counseling and real-world, practical advice to business owners in food, beverage and brewing to help their businesses grow and succeed. Each attendee can participate in up to six, 20-minute personalized coaching sessions with local small business specialists, food and beverage industry veterans and experts from Sam Adams, StreetShares and more.

Attendees can expect a fun evening of learning, networking and camaraderie. Attendees will also receive a copy of the book, Quench Your Own Thirst: Business Lessons Learned Over a Beer or Two, by Samuel Adams brewer and founder, Jim Koch. On a personal note, I attended an event like this a few years back, and it was both fun and inspiring to see all of the entrepreneurs so passionate about their ideas. It's a great, free option if you'd like some critical thinking around your idea.

Since 2008, the Brewing the American Dream program has focused on breaking down barriers to business success and building a community for craft food, beverage and brewing entrepreneurs, giving them access to the sought-after capital, coaching, and networking that small businesses find is hard to come by. Starting this year, Sam Adams joined forces with the StreetShares Foundation to focus on "vetrepreneurs" by providing both business coaching and the necessary capital to grow their businesses. Throughout Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia, the Samuel Adams Brewing the American Dream program supported twenty entrepreneurs with $245,000.
