DC Brau claims "we love our German lagers just as much as we love our heavily-hopped American ales," which is why they've brought back their Oktoberfestbier as a harbinger of another autumn.

They note that their Oktoberfest has "a classic light amber to copper hue that is topped with intense German malt aromas of toasty bread, light caramel and faint biscuit. It’s supported by a traditionally light Noble hop aroma that complements the rich malty notes. The mouthfeel is smooth and creamy with a medium body that gives it a pleasing richness. The hops perfectly compliment the dominant malt character to form a very refreshing Oktoberfestbier that can be enjoyed all thru the fall months."

Oktoberfest includes a variety of malts, including Weyermann Barke Munich, Weyermann Barke Pilsner, Weyermann CaraMunich II, Weyermann CaraMunich III, and Canada Malting Pale Wheat, plus German Tettnang hops. ABV is 5.5% with 25 IBUs.

Oktoberfest started pouring at the brewery this past weekend. You should be able to find it on draft in the DC market this week. 12oz cans will be available in the area later this month.
