On April 15, 2011, DC Brau's Brandon Skall and Jeff Hancock tapped the first keg of The Public Pale Ale at Meridian Pint in Columbia Heights. With that, local craft beer production resumed in DC for the first time in decades. Now, seven years and a bajillion Publics later, DC Brau will celebrate PUBLIC DAY this Sunday, April 15 with an all-day, city-wide celebration.

“After seven years, seeing people at the corner bar or an airport lounge enjoying The Public never gets old,” says co-founder and CEO Brandon Skall via press release. “The DC beer community has exploded since we tapped that first keg of pale ale at Meridian Pint in 2011. There are more choices for people to ‘drink local,’ and the fact that they still choose The Public is not lost on us. This is our way of saying thank you for the ongoing support, and celebrate our roots.”

In addition to specials on The Public offered at bars and restaurants across the city, DC Brau has several featured events scheduled for PUBLIC DAY on Sunday, April 15, including:
