DC Brau will mark their seventh anniversary this spring by hosting a concert on Saturday, April 21, 2018, at the Rock & Roll Hotel, featuring heavy metal mariachi band Metalachi, instrumental surf rock band Atomic Mosquitos and guest DJs. Tickets for the event are $25 in advance or $30 at the door. Doors open at 8 p.m. and the main stage show beings at 9 p.m.
When they’re not planning an “epic fiesta,” brewery co-founders Brandon Skall, Jeff Hancock and the rest of their staff have had no trouble keeping busy. Last fall, the brewery brought an expanded brewhouse online that led to increased production. The expansion “allowed us to continue to improve our processes and output in order to put out the best product possible,” said Hancock.
But beer hasn’t been the brewery’s only focus. “We’ve experienced a lot of spectacular achievements over the last seven years,” added Skall and Hancock. “Being an active part of our larger community has always been an important part of our brand. In 2017, we raised thousands of dollars for the LGBT community through the sale of a specially-branded pilsner can and we added our voice to other small business owners and community leaders about equality issues on the steps of the Supreme Court.”
DC Brau was also honored by the Restaurant Association of Metropolitan Washington with a 2017 RAMMY Award for best Regional Food and Beverage Producer of the Year.
