The doors are officially open at the Heritage Brewing Co. Market Common Brewpub & Roastery in Arlington, VA. This past Saturday, Heritage Brewing Company celebrated the opening of its new location by hosting its grand opening event. The event featured three new packaged beer releases, ten draft only releases, and a bunch of new merchandise for sale. The primary release for Heritage Brewing's Grand Opening event will be their three year anniversary ale. A massive beer, and yet another rich entry into Heritage Brewing Co.'s barrel series. This beer is the product of the time and patience of master blenders, taking an artful approach to combining seven different barrel series beers aged up to 33 months. It consumes the palate with flavors of deep molasses, dark cherries, and toasted oak, finishing with tart citrus notes. The result is an extremely complex beer that drinks more like a fine spirit than an ale. Six hundred 22 ounce bottles were available in the Arlington brewpub on the day of the release.
Heritage Brewing Co. also kicked off its new Lincoln's Hat beer series with the packaged release of its Double Taxation, double India pale ale. This complex and unfiltered imperial IPA is juicy, resinous, and loaded with tropical citrus notes from its generous hop additions. The third and final packaged beer release from Saturday was Heritage's first ever sour beer release and the start of their new Wilderness Series bottle releases. A collection of rare and wild aged beers that take on sour and tart flavors from their naturally occurring fermentation. Each beer is aged in a mix of barrels from vineyards and distilleries. This first Wilderness Series release is a wild fermented Belgian strong ale with a mix of spices, giving it a refreshing tart fruit flavor like no other beer in their lineup to date.
Heritage Brewing Market Common Brewpub & Roastery is "a dream brought to life" by a team of brewers, coffee roasters, and culinary experts. The team's vision was to deliver the highest quality beer, food, and coffee in one location. Located in the Clarendon neighborhood of Arlington, the Market Common brewpub contains a uniquely American rustic interior. The space was designed and hand built by the Heritage Brewing Co. team, a veteran-owned and operated company based out of Manassas and made up of mostly repurposed materials that the team brought in from their main production brewery. The benches and lights are all built from the same barrels that were used to age the beers that they serve.
In partnership with Veritas Coffee Co. the location also offers nitro cold press coffee, premium roasts, and draft lattes to go alongside their range of ale offerings. Restaurant partner Jason O'Brien and Executive Chef Donal Crosbie have teamed up with Heritage Brewing Co. to create an extraordinary farm-to-table menu that pairs perfectly with their artisan crafted ales. Crosbie and O'Brien have proven their culinary skills by providing patrons high quality, seasonal dishes using as many local producers as possible in their three NYC restaurants: Trinity Place, Hudson Hound, and The Bailey.
