New and Now Availables is a weekly(?) feature here at DCBeer.com. In an effort to keep readers informed about the newest beers (local and otherwise) appearing in the market and on beer menus, we'll be sharing the beer submissions we get from breweries and brewpubs. These may be brand new beers or they may be beers returning to rotations (e.g., seasonals, limited releases), or they may be one-offs. Notably, this list isn't comprehensive, but really how could it be? It relies on submissions from breweries. Are you a brewery with a beer you'd like to see here? Use our form. Cheers and thanks for reading!

This week is especially packed because we've got all the collaborations local breweries did for Craft Brewers Conference 2017. If you didn't realize #CBC17 was going on this week, that rock you've been under must be pretty cozy. Away we go!

Brewery Name: 3 Stars Brewing Company and Other Half Brewing
Beer Name: Go Go Weisse (6.5% – Sour Ale with Cherries and Cherry Blossoms)
Beer Description: "We got down with the crew at Other Half (Brooklyn, NY) to bring you Go-Go Weisse, a D.C. focused Sour Ale with Cherries and Cherry Blossoms. It's striking color is the first indication that this isn't your average sour ale. After an initial fermentation with lactobacillus, we ferment it further with California ale yeast. With the addition of a mountain of both sweet and sour cherries we developed a balanced tartness that finishes slightly sweet. We think this is the perfect beer for celebrating spring in D.C."
Release Date: April 11, 2017 – 1pm release at the brewery
Format: 16 ounce cans, draft
Availability: Brewery, Select On-Premise Accounts

Brewery Name: 3 Stars Brewing Company and J. Wakefield Brewing
Beer Name: Lupulicious (8.5% – Double India Pale Ale)
Beer Description: "After brewing Manatees at the Power Plant in Miami earlier this year, we decided to bring our homey J. Wakefield up to show him some D.C. hospitality and brew up a monster Double IPA. This beer has more hops in it than you can shake a stick at. Brewed with Amarillo, Centennial, and Simcoe hops, it's then finished with a crazy double/triple dry-hopping of Mosaic, Citra and Simcoe Lupulin Powder to give it an off the chain hop character without a ton of residual bitterness. Ringing in at 8.5% this formidable beast will leave you dreaming of all the hops you just drank."
Release Date: April 11, 2017 – 1pm release at the brewery
Format: 16 ounce cans, draft
Availability: Brewery, Select On-Premise Accounts

Brewery Name: 3 Stars Brewing Company and Ocelot Brewing Company
Beer Name: Knives Out (8.5% – Double India Pale Ale)
Beer Description: "We had our Dulles, VA buddies from Ocelot in the house to create a killer DDH DIPA with Southern Passion, Denali & Simcoe hops that we then double dry-hopped with Simcoe Lupulin Powder. The result is a highly crushable DIPA with a balanced character of both dank and tropical hop notes with a firm malt backbone providing a small amount of sweetness. Just another example of how the unexpected sometimes happens when you cross the river."
Release Date: April 11, 2017 – 1pm release at the brewery
Format: 16 ounce cans, draft
Availability: Brewery, Select On-Premise Accounts

Brewery Name: 3 Stars Brewing Company and Aslin Beer Company
Beer Name: Flip the Script (5.7% – Dry-Hopped Sour Ale)
Beer Description: "When we got together with the Herndon, VA based team from Aslin Brewing Company, we decided to change things up from normal sour procedures and counterbalance that component with some big juicy hop notes. We brewed this beer and added lactobacillus to create a balanced tart note before fermenting with brewers yeast and dry-hopping it with Azaaca & Calypso hops and finishing it with Citra Lupulin Powder. The result is a hybrid sour ale with a pronounced hop character with little to no perceived bitterness. One could say that we indeed "flipped the script"."
Release Date: April 11, 2017 – 1pm release at the brewery
Format: 16 ounce cans, draft

DC Brau: Yonder Cities – Brewed with Union Craft Brewing (Baltimore, MD) – This Belgian Farmhouse IPA exclusively uses Citra and Simcoe Hops. [ed note: this beer was brewered a few years ago, too, and was excellent.] (will be canned)

DC Brau: Conflict of Interest – Brewed with Melvin Brewing (Alpine, WY) – The 7.5% ABV Imperial Pilsner is brewed with traditional German hops with an emphasis on aroma contributed by German Saphir hops. (will be canned)

DC Brau: American Pale Ale – Brewed with Hop Head Farms & Firestone Walker (MI and CA) – This yet-to-be-named beer is a straight-forward American Pale Ale showcasing domestic hop varieties that were grown in Michigan at Hop Head Farms. This beer will showcase new aroma varieties, Cashmere and Grungeist, which (as rumor has it) could be the next "big aroma varieties" for the US and European markets. This beer will only be available on draft.

DC Brau: Cross Eyed Cat in the Meow Box – Brewed with 2SP Brewing (Aston, PA) – This German-inspired IPA used locally-grown spelt and malted rye supplied by Deer Creek Malthouse. In addition to locally grown malt, we used locally-grown Cascade, Chinook and Comet hops in the whirlpool for added hop aroma. This beer is basically a hoppy German-Style Maibock, which was brewed under the watchful (cross)eye of their brewery’s cat. This beer will only be available on draft.

DC Bau: Alt By Myself – Brewed at Stone Brewing World Gardens & Bistro, Liberty Station (San Diego, CA) This German-Style Altbeir was brewed using one type of Munich malt for the base malt of the beer in conjunction with German hop varieties, Hallertau Blanc and Hüll Melon, which are very unconventional this style of beer. This beer will only be available on draft.

DC Brau: Rally Cry – Brewed with Atlas Brew Works (Washington, DC) – Brewed in partnership with REI, proceeds from this locally-made Session IPA will be donated to the Washington Area Bicyclist Association (www.waba.org).

Brewery Name: Flying Dog and the Pink Boots Society
Beer Name: Alternative Facts (Altbier)
Beer Description: "When the Pink Boots Society sent out information about Big Boots Brew, an all-female brewing project, our team was already on it. Led by our QA lab technician, Emily, the concept of an Altbier named Alternative Facts came to life. Teaming up with Lisa, our favorite foul-mouthed female in the brewhouse, the pair developed a recipe for a copper-colored, malt-forward beer with a dry and bitter finish. (Sound familiar?)

On International Women's Day, the women of Flying Dog took over our brewhouse, spent the day milling and mashing in, and ended it with beers and plans for one epic beer release.

Alternative Facts Altbier premieres in our tasting room this Friday. We teamed up with Chef Stephanie of Vintage Eats for food and we'll have live music from our favorite local ladies Luna and Cheshi from 5-8 pm. If you're a member of the Pink Boots Society or a female in the brewing industry, all beers are only $2. Proceeds from the entire evening benefit the Pink Boots Society. This beer will only be available in our tasting room and only for a limited time. (Hopefully the latter also applies to those other alternative facts.)"
