3 Stars Brewing Company co-founders Mike McGarvey and Dave Coleman are no strangers to barbecue pits, and now they're opening up their brewery to showcase some of the city's finest chefs to show off their smoked wares.

A new Summer BBQ Series will start this Sunday, April 24 at the brewery (6400 Chillum Place NW). Each month, a different chef will offer their take on barbecue. "Whether it's traditional South Carolina style, Argentinian style open roasting, or an Asian inspired take, you know it's going to be delicious," says the brewery.

Beyond the plates, there will also be cocktail and beer pairings for the dishes and a live band will set the mood.

The series will start off Sunday from 3-7pm with Chef Howard "Hondo" Greenberg from Fat Pete's BBQ. They'll be smoking a whole pig and serving it with a specialty cocktail from George Dickel Whisky. These are private, ticketed events and space is limited. You can get your tickets via Eventbrite. $5 gets you in the door and includes first drink. After that, beers, cocktails, and BBQ will be served a la carte.

After Chef Hondo sets the stage, subsequent months will feature Logan McGear of Smoke & Barrel, Kyle Bailey of Sixth Engine and The DublinerScott Drewno of The Source by Wolfgang Puck, Danny Lee of Mandu, and Hamilton Johnson of Honeysuckle.
