Sad news for fried chicken and donut enthusiasts. Neighborhood Restaurant Group's GBD will serve its last shift tonight after a three year run. GBD, which stood for "Golden, Brown, and Delicious," also offered 24 craft draft offerings that were, appropriately, separated into "chicken" and "donut" beers. Their happy hour, which offered a $3, $4, and $5 option daily, often with whales like DC Brau's On the Wings of Armageddon, was one of the best craft beer bargains in the city.

The news came yesterday via Twitter. The notice explains that the restaurant's space will stay in the NRG family, and will re-open with a new concept with beers curated by Greg Engert.

An article in the Washington City Paper yesterday said that the new spot is scheduled to open in a month or two.
