Welcome to the fifth day of DC Beer Week 2015! Check out the great events going on today!
TODAY’S MARQUEE EVENT!
History will be made tonight. Prepare yourself. Tonight, ChurchKey will devote all 55 of its draft and cask lines to beers brewed right here in the District during the Washington, DC Total Tap Takeover! Not only will this be the first time that they’ve turned over each and every one of their taps over to our DC craft brewers, this will also be the largest single tapping of DC craft brews…ever.
Expect a wide array of flagships, seasonals, one-offs and rarities both on cask and on draft from 3 Stars, Atlas, Bluejacket, DC Brau, Hellbender and Right Proper at this inaugural event that will certainly turn into a beer week tradition. No tickets required, pay as you go for 4oz samples or full pours. Doors open at 4pm.
TODAY’S EDUCATIONAL EVENT
One of DC Beer Week's aims is to educate people about great beer and expand their knowledge. With that in mind, we have a full slate of interesting, interactive, and exciting education events that you should definitely check out!
Discuss DC’s Gray Laws and Self-Distribution at Roofers Union – 6-8pm – Roofers Union will play host to founders and brewers from three breweries who distribute their own products within the District: Denizens of Silver Spring, MD; Franklins of Hyattsville, MD; and Mad Fox of Falls Church, VA. Moderated by Paul Josuns of DC Beer, the panel will talk about their decision self-distribute and their experiences bringing beer into DC. No reservations necessary; featured beers from the panel breweries on tap!
