Brace yourselves, DC.  The fun-loving crew from Lagunitas is rolling into town to release Fusion 19 – on Mardis Gras, no less.  The collaboration beer unveiling/concert will take place at 7:00pm, March 4th at U Street Music Hall.

Astute readers will remember that bands, beer writers, and music press from four markets (including representatives from DC Beer and Brightest Young Things) were flown out to Petaluma to help brew the mother beer for Fusion 19, a brown ale dry-hopped with Mosaic and Nelson Sauvin.  Each city was then tasked with doctoring up the base beer to create a unique batch to be served only back at their respective homes – we chose to blend in some Kronik aged in High West barrels previously used to age Manhattans. If you look closely at the video below, you might just spy Chris at work.

Now, Lagunitas and some musical acts are setting off on a tour of those cities to unveil said beers as part of Lagunitas's Couch Trippin' project. The DC release promises to be memorable, with appearances from some of the brewery's lively reps and performances from J. Roddy Walston and the Business, the So-So Glos, and another local band to be named later.

Registration for the release party is free, but you gotta have your name down to attend.  And be sure to come early, because doors close when they're at capacity!
