Homebrewing is awesome, no doubt about it, but the final product isn't always up to snuff. Too many bottles are damned with the faint praise: "pretty good for homebrew". No more.
Throughout October, you have the chance to learn at the hands of Mike Tonsmeire, aka the Mad Fermentationist, as he takes up residency at Living Social's F Street digs. You might recognize the name from his wildly popular blog, his summer gig with San Diego's Modern Times, or even his part in the Hop Symposium at Smith Commons last spring.
Class attendees will get a comprehensive Homebrewing 101 lesson, tastes of some great local beers from DC Brau, 3 Stars, and Flying Dog, a package of hops, and a basic take-home recipe. Homebrew kits will be available for purchase, as well.
