DC Beer Week 2014 returns from August 17-24. Although we have day-by-day line-ups posted, it may also be helpful for the #DCBrews community to check out what some players that are going above and beyond will be offering. Here are the events being sponsored by various restaurants in the Neighborhood Restaurant Group family (ChurchKey, Bluejacket, GBD, The Partisan, Rustico Ballston, Rustico Alexandria). Events are organized by venue. For more of DCBeer's DCBW coverage, click here.

Thursday, August 21 – 5pm – Debut of Bluejacket's Snallygaster 2014 Ale + New Barrel-Aged Brews & Vintage Collaboration Ales on Draft: Join us on Thursday, August 21st during DC Beer Week as we debut our Snallygaster 2014 Ale and release several new barrel-aged brews plus vintage collaboration ales!

This year especially for Snallygaster, we're brewing 4 limited release beers, 3 of which will be barrel-aged and only available at the festival. On the 21st, however, we'll be debuting the base beer, our Snallygaster 2014 Ale. Anytime you order the Snallygaster 2014 Ale before the festival on September 13th and provide your name & email, you'll be entered to win a grand prize of a case of Bluejacket beers–including beers never released before, barrel-aged rarities, cool sour ales, an epic in-depth brewery tour and beer & Food experience led by Greg Engert for the winner and 5 of your friends, plus Bluejacket swag!

The Snallygaster 2014 Ale is a funky ale that will end up being a 7% golden Farmhouse-style ale, brewed with 30% wheat (a portion of which is malted and a portion unmalted), hopped with New Zealand-grown Southern Cross and Oregon-grown Horizontal hops, then fermented with a blended culture of Brettanomyces (Bruxellensis & Lambicus strains), Lactobacillus and Saccharomyces (Saison Ale yeast). Each of these strains was cultured and propagated in Bluejacket's lab, and chosen for the promising flavors exhibited during the propagation. The strains were then blended and added, en masse, to the brewed wort.

In addition, we'll be tapping some extra special beers this night for DC Beer Week, including several vintage collaboration beers with the likes of Cigar City, Funky Buddha, The Bruery & Pizza Port.

There is no admission fee for this event.
