Tuesday, August 13 at 5:00 PM – The Release of Mad Fox/Smoke & Barrel "The Ambassador" Session IPA – Smoke and Barrel – 2471 18th Street NW
Smoke & Barrel will release its first official collaboration beer, The Ambassador IPA, a session IPA brewed with Mad Fox Brewing Company. The beer will highlight a Mad Fox tap-takeover at Smoke & Barrel on Tuesday August 13, which will feature 11 other selections from the award-winning brewery, including Mad Fox Batch 100, Oaked Leonidas American strong ale, Dingo IPA, Post Meridian Schwarzbier, and the highly-sought Orange Whip IPA.

The Ambassador is a low-alcohol ale brewed with Australian Galaxy hops and an experimental hop in development called HBC-342, and is based on a homebrew recipe by Smoke & Barrel bartender Erich Streckfuss. Streckfuss, Mad Fox Head Brewer Charlie Buettner and assistant brewers Brian Murphy and Brad Hulewicz then tweaked the recipe slightly. The result is a 4.5%, light-bodied, golden-hued IPA with big hop flavor and aroma.
