DCBW 2013 Events: 3 Stars Brewing Company

DC Beer Week 2013 returns from August 11-18. Although we have day-by-day line-ups posted, it may also be helpful for the #DCBrews community to check out what some players that are going above and beyond will be offering. Here are the events being sponsored by 3 Stars Brewing Company. Tuesday, August 13 at 7:00pm – Inaugural Local Beer Debate Dinner at Farmers Fishers Bakers – Farmers Fishers Baker – 3000 K Street NW
As the DMV's craft brewing scene flourishes, so does the competition to create a great, unique beer. Farmers Fishers Bakers will host a five-course tasting dinner that will let the beer from three local brewers speak for itself. Devils Backbone Brewing (VA), Flying Dog Brewery (MD), and 3 Stars Brewing Company (DC) will each bring their A-game as they vie for the title of 'DC Local Beer Debate' champion, to be decided by guests that attend the event. Each course will be paired with three tastings from each brewery — that's five farm–inspired dishes from Executive Chef Joe Goetze and fifteen beers from three of the area's best breweries. Tickets are $74 per person, including tax, gratuity, and gift bag. Tickets available at ffbbeerdebatedinner.bpt.me.

Wednesday, August 14 at 4:00pm – 3 Stars Brewing Company Spotlight and Jerkface Jerky Pairing – The Big Hunt – 1345 Connecticut Avenue NW
3 Stars is doing a couple special brews for DCBW, one of them being Harvester of Sorrow (Peppercorn Saison aged in Cabernet barrels) and local DC Jerkface is pairing "Cabanero" (spicy wine jerky) with it! The Hunt is also pouring Born Sinner (Southern Belle aged in Makers Mark barrels, blended with Pandemic Porter), Zombie Date Night (Pandemic with raspberry and cocoa nibs), and Lime Basil Saison. NOT TO BE MISSED!

Wednesday, August 14 at 7:00pm – 3 Stars Brewing Company Garden Party – Poste Modern Brasserie – 555 8th Street NW
3 Stars takes over the patio taps in Poste's courtyard and hosts an old fashioned garden party replete with tasty brews and good food.

Friday, August 16 at 6:00pm – Friday Night Under the Lights at Union Market: A Celebration of Craft Beer and Craftsmen – Union Market – 1309 5th Street NE
BBQ under the lights at Union Market as 3 Stars Brewing Company takes over the taps at Suburbia and brings the backyard to the market with music, burgers and other assorted meats and food items on the grill. Just like your neighbor's BBQ, admission is free and beers and food will all be available a la carte (unfortunately not BYOB). Get a taste of the burbs before your weekend in the city commences. After a burger and a couple beers, wander your way around Union Market and check out awesome vendors like Rappahannock River Oysters, Neopold Smoked Fish, Red Apron Meats, Buffalo & Bergen, and Salt and Sundry.

Saturday, August 17 at 1:00pm – DC Firefighters Burn Foundation Benefit with 3 Stars – Meridian Pint – 3400 11th Street NW
Join 3 Stars and Meridian Pint as they grill and chill all afternoon with some tasty beers and a BBQ to benefit the DC Fire Fighters Burn Foundation. 3 Stars will be pouring their version of the Solidarity Summer Ale with proceeds going to help injured firefighters and burn patients in the DC Metropolitan Area. They will also be breaking out some of their limited edition barrel aged offerings and hanging out on the patio all day. The guys from the local firehouse are likely to show up for the festivities. Come by, eat some tasty bites off the grill and drink some delicious beers all to benefit a good cause. Festivities will begin around 1 or 2 and more details will follow.
