At growler hours this Saturday (12-4pm), DC Brau will be pouring (1) The Tradition, a well-balanced golden ale just above the threshold of session beer, brewed in conjunction with DC United, DC's soccer team. Wear team gear and get a dollar off a growler. The beer will also be served in DC United's Official Bar Partners throughout the area. A map is here. We here at DCBeer.com were hoping it would be named Bierra Brava, but alas, no such luck.
On Tuesday, June 11th, DC Brau will unveil (2) "Sailing the Seas of Lees," (please let that be an intentional Primus reference!), a saison aged in sauvignon blanc wine barrels, along with wine yeast, from Linden, VA's Linden Vinyards. The beer has a third collaborator, Sebastian Zutant of The Red Hen, the only restaurant in DC's Bloomingdale neighborhood with valet parking. The Washington Post's Fritz Hahn reports that another collaboration (3) is in the works involving Penn Quarter Porter and claret barrels.
Last, but not least, Brau will enter a (4) Kolsch-style ale into a friendly competition at the Navy Yard Gordon Biersch on Saturday, June 15th. More details on the Kolsch Cup are here.
