See this rather forlorn-looking industrial space?
It's about to get a lot less forlorn, because Hellbender Brewing Company is hard at work on a brewery build out in Riggs Park, a neighborhood in Northeast DC not too far from where 3 Stars Brewing has also set up shop. In fact, if the neighbors don't mind you cutting through their yards (hint: they will), it'll be about a 10-minute walk between the breweries, and is within a mile of the Ft. Totten Metro station. Construction has already begun on a WalMart nearby, so this neighborhood is going to change, dramatically, in the next few years.
For the curious gawkers, the address is 5788 2nd St. NE, Washington, DC 20011. For the hungry ones, there's a combination KFC/Taco Bell on the corner of Riggs and South Dakota Avenues.
