MOAR LOCAL BEER! Atlas Brew Works (@AtlasBrewWorks) Edition

Unbeknownst to us, or to anyone, it seems, a new brewery is slated to open in NE DC, again taking advantage of that area's warehouses and zoning. Atlas Brew Works is the product of DC homebrewer Justin Cox, who won the 2010 DC State Fair homebrew competition with a black lager, and Will Durgin, an accomplished professional brewer whose resume includes stints at Santa Barbara, CA's sneaky-underrated Telegraph Brewing Company and Pyramid Breweries in Portland, OR.

A full press release is below, and we'll have more information on Atlas Brew Works as they get ready to launch, which they hope will be in the spring of 2013. We'll see what DCRA has to say about that. In the meantime, check out their website.
