New Belgium and Smoke & Barrel love you, dedicated DC beer drinker. In fact, they love you so much that they’re going to show you how to taste beer.
You might think you already know how to taste beer – place in mouth, wait, etc – but you’d only be partially correct. Given the proper tools, you’ll find new depths of flavor heretofore unplumbed. Oh, and did I mention that you’ll also be privy to the DC release of SUPER IPA, New Belgium’s collaboration with Alpine Brewing, as well as the NB/Lost Abbey collaboration Brett Beer? No? Well it’s true.
It all goes down Wednesday, September 5th at 6 pm. From the press release:
Join us for an hour-long guided tasting with Asst. Beer Director & Certified Cicerone® Tim Prendergast and New Belgium Beer Ranger John Gartner. While sampling 8 New Belgium drafts and a wide spectrum of beer flavors, guests will be shown an approach to evaluating beer that focuses on sensory analysis. This informal and interactive introduction to tasting beer is meant to expand the average drinker’s ability to appreciate a brew.
