The thing about DC Beer Week is…well it’s really too many things to too many people to mention in a roundup. But many is good. In fact, it’s better than one. Although, considering how many intriguing events are being put on tonight, one may be all you need.
If you’re a locavore you should head to The Big Hunt after work for local favorites 3 Stars, Evolution, DuClaw, and more. Tap takeovers abound with Pennsylvania breweries: Troegs at Penn Social and Victory at Pizzeria Paradiso Dupont. For more Belgique taps, head to Belga Cafe for a Delirium takeover. Meridian Pint hosts an epicurean delight with the pair-friendly Ommegang leading the charge. If a paired affair of suds and smokes is more your ticket, head to Jack Rose and chew on a fat stogie provided by W. Curtis Draper Tobacconist. Take a vicarious trip to the land of the Maine-iacs with a Maine review at ChurchKey, where Allagash, Maine Brewing, Oxbow, and Rising Tide will all be flowing. If cask ale is more your mug head to District Chophouse for a taste of the DC Brewers Beer Week Collaboration Beer “Solidarity Saison.” They’ll also be pouring beers from Bluejacket, DC Brau, 3 Stars Brewing Company, District Chophouse, and others. If your heart yearns for the hearltand, Smith Commons is holding it down for the Midwest with beers poured from Bell’s, Goose Island, Great Lakes, Boulevard Brewing Company, Founders, Schlafly, New Holland and a whole mess from Colorado to boot! If you like your James Brown and the JBs with a side of Sour Patch Kids, Tryst is the place for you tonight. With a bunch of sour and funk-infused beers, you can get your Brett and Lacto on with New Belgium and their Lost Abbey collaboration.
