DC Beer Week 2012 will take place from August 12-18. DCBeer is your spot to find the most comprehensive listing of DC Beer Week events. Some venues stack the DCBW line-up with events every day of the week. Rather than do individual posts on all of these venues’ events, we’re presenting individual posts for this handful of venues. Here is The Smoke and Barrel’s line-up, including full draft lists, straight from the mouth of Beer Director Sam Fitz.

Chouffe Little Man Big Mouth Taco Takedown
Don’t be fooled by his slight stature, the Chouffe Gnome is ready to eat more tacos than you! Every Tuesday is Taco Tuesday, but Brasserie D’Achouffe is sponsoring our first ever taco eating competition. Eight vegan/vegetarian participants & eight meat-loving participants will get nine of our BBQ tacos with only a glass of Chouffe to wash them down.
The winner will be the contestant that eats the most tacos in 15 minutes (or by time if more than one brave soul can down all nine tacos). Any participant that outcompetes the Gnome will win a $25 giftcard to Smoke & Barrel. Additionally, the top participant from each heat will win three free tacos every Tuesday for a year.
Our signature BBQ tacos are made with house-smoked meat or tofu, cheese, slaw, pickles, and our Port City Porter BBQ sauce, all on warm flour tortillas. If you’ve ever seen how packed the house gets on Tuesdays, then you know they are a DC favorite!
If you’re not brave enough to take down nine delicious tacos, then come out and enjoy $6 glasses of Chouffe from 10PM to close while watching a bunch of grown adults stuff their faces with delicious tacos.
To enter as a participant, simply email Sam at Beer@MeridianPint.com and be ready to rumble!

Sour Saturday
The Meridian Pint maintains a temperature controlled cellar where appropriate kegs and bottles of interesting beers are aged to perfection. The Pint has never released a keg out of its cellar until now, when six Jolly Pumpkin brews all aged over a year will be transfered to Smoke & Barrel for this sour extravaganza. Just for fun, our other 18 draft lines will also be filled with sour suds. The list so far:
