When last month's storm caused a lager to ferment at a higher-than-planned temperature, the intrepid Port City crew steered the batch toward ale climates, resulting in the lovely style known as steam beer or California common. This Friday, you'll get to try that felicitous beer, christened Derecho Common after the storm that spawned it.  They'll open the taps at Port City's new-ish tasting room at 3 pm. So come on out to try a beer that owes its existence to the maxim "Any PORT in a STORM".  Get it?  PORT City? The Derecho STORM? Right?
