I have a love affair with Cantillon’s Rosé de Gambrinus. Wonderful tartness, a blast of fresh raspberry, and all of the lambic qualities that Cantillon does better than anyone else in the world.
The problem is that I can very rarely find it, and usually only in bottles.
Well, ChurchKey, typically, will have it on draft.
Tomorrow night, Tuesday, July 31, CK will tap the Gambrinus along with five other brews from De la Senne. You may remember De la Senne from such brews as the wonderful Belgian IPA, Tara Boulba.
Here’s what will be available from De la Senne, along with notes where available from beer director Greg Engert:
De la Senne Brussels Calling (a well-bittered Blond)
De la Senne Zwarte Piet (New 2012 Recipe)
De la Senne Jambe-de-Bois (a Tripel endowed with bold hop intensity)
De La Senne Stouterik
De La Senne Taras Boulba
There is no admission charge for this event and all Cantillon and De la Senne drafts will be priced individually in 4 oz. tasters and full-glass pours.
Seriously though, get there and get some Gambrinus. It won’t last, but my love affair with it will.
