The first two installments of Back Porch Brew have been pretty excellent affairs. So far as saison and an IPA have been brewed, lessons have been learned, and many, many beers have been consumed.

Well, it’s back! This Saturday, July 28 from 1-7pm, DC Homebrewers will be on the back porch brewing up something special. What is it this month? Well:

This is the 3rd installment of the educational all-grain brewing series, where we will be replicating the signature Felicity Smith Watermelon cocktail, in ale form. We will be walking participants of all experience levels through the ingredients and brew process step-by-step, highlighting the chemistry and art of creating great beer using adjunct ingredients such as 2 row, Pilsner malt, Rice, Watermelon, Agave, Thai Basil, Orange Blossom Honey, Sliced Ginger, Lime Peel, Saaz, Magnum, and Citra hops.

3 Stars Brewing Company  will also be in attendance this Saturday to speak about the new brewery, homebrew shop, and talk about the DC beer scene.

Additionally, there will be food and drink specials, rare and hard to find bottles, and samples of the India Pale Ale (IPA) from the second Back Porch Brew installment.
