Tomorrow, July 17, at 6PM Rustico Ballston will host Blue Mountain Brewery and will feature over a dozen beers from this award winning brewery. Head to Arlington and check out one of Virginia’s finest.

Here is what Rustico has planned:

Blue Mountain Brewery, of Nelson County, Virginia, has long been a big favorite of ours, and we are not alone…due to demand for their amazing ales and lagers, their brews had become quite scarce in these parts…

Luckily, they have been busy building a second brewery, known as Blue Mountain Barrel House and Organic Brewery, and this has allowed not only for more availability, but for brand new brews as well! Blue Mountain Barrel House and Organic Brewery is a 10,000 square foot production-only facility for the 10 lines of Blue Mountain beer that will be kegged or bottled in 750ml corked bottles and undergo 100% natural refermentation. These beers will be USDA certified organic and will tend toward the more “specialty” end of Blue Mountain’s beer production spectrum. And we will have a plethora available for you this coming Tuesday night, starting at 6 pm!

Blue Mountain proprietors Taylor and Mandi Smack will be in the house, handing out Blue Mountain glassware and sharing stories of Virginia craft beer production and expansion, while we tap no fewer than 14 different Blue Mountain ales and lagers (7 from the classic line and the original brewery, 7 from the new line of the new brewhouse!)! Stay tuned as well, because they are also bringing 2 very special casks for the occasion!

There is no admission fee for this event and all Blue Mountain brews will be priced individually in 4 oz. tasters and full-glass pours!

Casks:

Blue Mountain Chiswick Bitter:
Classic English Best Bitter brewed w/ Marris Otter malt & East Kent Golding hops; fermented w/ Fuller’s London Ale yeast. 4.4% abv, 30 IBUs. Dry-hopped in the cask with a bit more Golding hops.

Blue Mountain Full Nelson goes to Belgium:
Full Nelson Pale Ale with a partial blend of our award-winning Blue Reserve (American-Belgo pale), then dry-hopped with Amarillo whole-cone hops. We’re not really sure how much Belgian character is going to come through at the blend level performed but we’re sure it’s going to be tasty!

Blue Mountain Long Winter’s Nap in a Chocolate Dark Hollow:
This is a blend of Ghana-cacao-nib-aged Long Winter’s Nap blonde triplebock and Dark Hollow bourbon barrel-aged Imperial Stout. Sure to please.
