Wednesday, July 18th, ChurchKey will tap no fewer than 10 exciting, exotic, and esoteric ales recently woken from a oak-induced slumber. Beginning at 6pm, a myriad of barrel brews, each showcasing singular nuances from their time in the wood: some sour, some funky, some oaky…all delicious!
Here’s the word on what will be available on Wednesday, according to Beer Director Greg Engert:
DC Brau is sending the works, with three barrel-aged drafts and one barrel-aged cask on the roster. Goose Island has kindly sent a keg of Bourbon County Stout, and we have a couple Zymatore Series Sour Oak-Aged Ales set aside as well (Grado Plato Strada San Felice and De Glazen Toren Saison d’Erpe Mere both matured in Italian Piazzo Fortified wine barrels…and the d’Erpe Merpe will be poured via an oak clad gravity keg!).
All barrel-aged beers will be served in 4 oz. taster pours and full glass pours. There is no admission for this event.
