While you can technically spell summer without “I-P-A”, I wouldn’t recommend it. Only the bitter juice can cut through the sweltering mess that is July in DC.
That’s why the crew at Baying Hound is releasing Hop Shot IPA today. Swing by the brewery between 12 and 10 pm today, tomorrow, or Saturday to give it a taste. And while you’re there, you may as well try out whatever else is on tap – you did make the long trek to Rockville, after all.
As for the beer itself – healthy doses of Columbus, Galena, and Warrior ratchet up the IBUs to 73, balanced by Vienna and Crystal malts. All spritzy citrus and serious bitterness, Shot weighs in at just under 7% ABV, so tread lightly.
