Ah it’s finally Friday, which means the first night of SAVOR is tonight. Who’s excited? More importantly…who’s got tickets?

I hope you’re all recovering nicely from yesterday. So much went on that we’re pretty sure the entire #DCBrews community is nursing a collective hangover today.

But you have to power through because whether you’re going to SAVOR tonight or not, there are still a lot of great events.

ChurchKey’s event of the day comments in about 90 minutes with a Founders and Upland Brewing event. Try the Upland sours and of course Founders’ huge and varied selections.

If happy hour is more your persuasion, stop by America Eats Tavern and get some $1 oysters and some Fullsteam beers that aren’t available anywhere else in DC. Beasley’s Honey White is one of DCBeer’s can’t-miss beers of SAVOR Week.

Rustico launches Bluejacket’s second beer tonight (their second beer launch in as many nights). The beer is a collaboration with Devils Backbone and is a black Berlinerweiss, a style we here at DCBeer haven’t seen yet.

Meanwhile, at The Black Squirrel, Devils Backbone will be debuting some of its own beers. Vienna lager + Black Squirrel burger = taste bud joy.

For the after-SAVOR crowd, you’ve got two options: Two Brothers at Smoke and Barrel and Flying Dog at Poste. If you need a nightcap after SAVOR, I’d be surprised, but these two spots will hold it down and keep it open late for you!

Have an awesome time at SAVOR or just being out and about!

The Black Squirrel: Devils Backbone Launch Party – 5pm
The devil is in the details, so knows Devil’s Backbone brewer Jason Oliver. That’s why many of his suds are multiple award winners. Now his extraordinary beer is making its way to DC, and The Black Squirrel is hosting a launch party. Be one of the first in DC to taste these acclaimed brews and meet some of the devils whose elixirs makes us naughty.

Smoke and Barrel: Post-SAVOR Bash with (The) Two Brothers – 10pm
Two Brothers, an awesome brewery from Illinois, will be featured at SAVOR, but you can sample their suds at the Barrel before, during, and after SAVOR. Jason & Jim Ebel, Founders and Owners of Two Brothers Brewing, will bring the party to us after SAVOR for a late-night fiesta. Beers go on at 5PM so feel free to sample early. Eight drafts will be announced shortly.
