I’ve never been to a lowcountry boil. Hell, I don’t even know where the “lowcountry” is. Is it near Narnia or Alderaan? Please advise. Anyway, Evening Star Cafe is having one of these boils on Saturday, June 16 from 1-5pm, and since Terrapin Brewing Company beers will be featured, I guess it’s pretty serious.
Executive Chef Jim Jeffords will serve up a menu of fresh crawfish, corn, new potatoes, shrimp, and Andouille sausage, all thrown together in giant pots, seasoned, and cooked to perfection. Evening Star will also be serving their warm cornbread, seasonal cobbler and housemade half smokes to complete the meal.
And to drink? Terrapin Brewing Company is bringing some of their best brews from Georgia to the party, including Rye Pale Ale, Hopsecutioner, Hop Karma, Easy Rider and the limited edition Anniversary Ale.
There is no fee for admission. Food and beverage tickets will be sold individually for $1 each. Items will range from 4 to 10 tickets. For more information please visit www.eveningstarcafe.net or call (703) 549-5051.
Hope to see you there. I’m hoping Aslan the Lion will show me how to eat some crawfish.
